# Al-Mutakabbir

**الْمُتَكَبِّرُ** — The Greatest

The One to whom all greatness and majesty belong exclusively, manifesting supreme glory above all creation.

**Source:** Haşr 59:23 (59:23)

**Virtue:** Al-Mutakabbir affirms that true greatness and majesty belong to Allah alone—no creature can share these attributes with Him. Pride suits only the Creator; for the servant, pride is like seizing a garment that does not belong to them. In a sacred hadith Allah declares: 'Pride is My garment and grandeur is My cloak; whoever competes with Me regarding either of them, I will throw him into Hellfire.' The servant who invokes Al-Mutakabbir takes refuge from the hidden arrogance of the self, clothes themselves in humility, and seeks Allah's pleasure rather than human praise.
