# Al-Jabbar

**الْجَبَّارُ** — The Compeller

The One whose will is irresistible, who mends the broken and compels all things according to His divine plan.

**Source:** Haşr 59:23 (59:23)

**Virtue:** Al-Jabbar declares that Allah accomplishes His will by His might, mends broken hearts, and brings every creature under His command. The root jabr carries two meanings: to compel and to set a fracture—Allah is the Power who subjugates the unjust and the One who binds the wounds of the oppressed. The Prophet (peace be upon him) glorified Allah in his bowing and prostration with mentions of His grandeur, sovereignty, and dominion. Invoking Al-Jabbar invites the servant to surrender unbearable burdens to Him and to recognize that only Allah can truly repair what is broken in the soul.
