# Al-Fattah

**الْفَتَّاحُ** — The Opener

The One who removes all obstacles, opens the doors of good, and grants relief from every difficulty.

**Source:** Sebe 34:26 (34:26)

**Virtue:** Al-Fattah declares that Allah is the Opener of all that is closed—opening hearts to guidance, lips to good, lives to blessing, and difficulties to resolution. The doors of provision, of knowledge, and of mercy are all opened by Him. When entering the mosque the Prophet (peace be upon him) would supplicate: 'O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.' The servant who invokes Al-Fattah remembers, when a question is closed in the mind, a grief is sealed in the heart, or a door has narrowed in life, that He is the One who opens—and so turns to Him alone, in obstruction as in abundance.

> Abu Usayd (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'When one of you enters the mosque, let him send blessings upon the Prophet and say: "O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy." And when he leaves, let him say: "O Allah, I ask You of Your bounty."'
