# Al-Hakim

**الْحَكِيمُ** — The Perfectly Wise

The One who acts with absolute wisdom in all things, whose commands and decrees are guided by perfect insight.

**Source:** Bakara 2:129 (2:129)

**Virtue:** Al-Hakim declares that Allah possesses infinite wisdom in every act, ruling, and decree; in His creation, command, and decree there is not a single point of futility. In Surah al-Baqarah 2:32 the angels say: 'Glory be to You—we have no knowledge except what You have taught us. Indeed, You are the All-Knowing, the Wise.' The servant who reflects on this name meets the events of their life they do not understand with submission—every happening carries a wisdom. Illness, loss, delay, unexpected turns—all are lessons decreed by Al-Hakim.
