# Al-Qadir

**الْقَادِرُ** — The Powerful

The One who has power over all things, possessing unlimited ability to accomplish whatever He wills.

**Source:** En'âm 6:65 (6:65)

**Virtue:** Al-Qadir declares that Allah has power over everything and that nothing can resist Him. In Surah al-Baqarah 2:284 He says: 'Allah forgives whom He wills and punishes whom He wills; Allah has power over all things.' The servant who reflects on this name sees what they had thought impossible as possible with Allah—healing for the sick, repayment for a hopeless debt, the softening of a closed heart. Al-Qadir says 'Be,' and it is. All the knots of life become a simple decision in Al-Qadir's hand.
