# Az-Zahir

**الظَّاهِرُ** — The Manifest

The One whose existence is evident through signs visible in all of creation.

**Source:** Hadîd 57:3 (57:3)

**Virtue:** Az-Zahir declares that Allah's existence is plainly seen; the heavens, the earth, and every atom within point to Him. In Surah al-Hadid 57:3 He is invoked alongside Al-Awwal. Distinct from Al-Muta'ali: Al-Muta'ali emphasizes exaltedness; Az-Zahir emphasizes manifestness. The Quran asks again and again: 'Do you not see?' Because Allah's signs are everywhere. The servant who reflects on this name, glancing at their surroundings—a flower, a baby, a star—sees Allah's signature. Nature is a book; Az-Zahir is read on every page.
