## About the Eid prayer

- The Eid prayer is wajib in the Hanafi school and sunnah in the Shafi'i school, and the ruling applies to those on whom the Friday prayer is obligatory. In the Hanafi school it must be prayed in congregation. Someone who cannot join does not have to make it up or pray it alone; praying two or four rak'ahs of Duha (Ishraq) at home is recommended instead. - The Eid prayer time begins once the sun has risen. The hour differs from province to province and is announced by the local muftis.
