## Eid al-Adha dates

- The Day of Arafah: Saturday, May 15, 2027
- Eid al-Adha: Sunday, May 16, 2027
- Last day of Eid: Wednesday, May 19, 2027

The dates follow the Diyanet calendar.

## A short note on the sacrifice

- According to the Diyanet Higher Board of Religious Affairs, a Muslim who is of sound mind, has reached puberty, is not travelling, and owns the nisab amount of wealth beyond basic needs and debts (80.18 grams of 24-carat gold or its value in money or goods) is obliged to offer the sacrifice. The wealth does not have to be productive or held for a year. - The time for the sacrifice begins after the Eid prayer where it is held, and after the Fajr time begins where it is not. In the Hanafi view it lasts until the evening of the third day of Eid, in the Shafi'i view until sunset on the fourth day. It may be done by night or day, though day is preferable.
