# Shawwal fast 2027

**Six days. The first day is Wednesday, March 10, 2027, the second day of Eid. No fast is kept on the first day of Eid.**

## How is the Shawwal fast kept?

- The Shawwal fast is six days. The six days may be kept one after the other or with breaks in between. ([Diyanet Higher Board: the ruling on the Shawwal fast (Turkish)](https://kurul.diyanet.gov.tr/tr/fetva/sevval-orucunun-hukmu-nedir-ramazanda-tutulamayan-oruclar-sevval-orucu-niyetiyle-tutulabilir-mi/0193c42d-6c0d-746d-2387-7f0c6c28be33))
- No fast is kept on the first day of Eid al-Fitr. So the first day for the Shawwal fast is the second day of Eid. ([Diyanet Higher Board: the days on which fasting is forbidden (Turkish)](https://kurul.diyanet.gov.tr/Cevap-Ara/475/oruc-tutulmasi-yasak-olan-gunler-hangileridir))

## Dates

- First day of Eid al-Fitr (no fast): Tuesday, March 9, 2027
- First day for the Shawwal fast: Wednesday, March 10, 2027
- Last day on the tracker: Wednesday, April 7, 2027
- Number of days: 6

The tracker shows the 29 days from the second day of Eid. Shawwal lasts 29 or 30 days, so the last day can differ by one day.
