Upon hearing of a calamity or death
İnnâ lillâhi ve innâ ileyhi râciûn. Allâhümme'cürnî fî musîbetî ve ahlif lî hayran minhâ.
To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and replace it with something better.
Muslim, Jana'iz 3, 918
Supplication in the funeral prayer
Allâhümmağfir lehû verhemhü ve âfihî va'fü anhü ve ekrim nüzülehû ve vassi' mudhulehû vağsilhü bil mâi ves selci vel beredi ve nakkihî minel hatâyâ kemâ yünakkâs sevbül ebyadu mined denesi.
O Allah, forgive him, have mercy on him, give him wellness and pardon him, make honorable his reception, make wide his entrance, and wash him with water, snow and hail. Purify him from sin as a white garment is purified from filth.
Muslim, Jana'iz 26, 963
After burial

O Allah, forgive him and make him steadfast.
The Prophet (PBUH) used to stand at the graveside after burial and recite this.
Abu Dawud, Jana'iz 73, 3221
When visiting graves
Esselâmü aleyküm ehleddiyâri minel mü'minîne vel müslimîne, ve innâ in şâallâhü biküm lâhikûn, es'elüllâhe lenâ ve lekümül âfiyeh.
Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of the graves, among the believers and the Muslims. Indeed, if Allah wills, we shall follow you. I ask Allah for well-being for us and for you.
Muslim, Jana'iz 104, 975; Nasa'i, Jana'iz 103, 2039
Reminding the dying person
Lâ ilâhe illallâh.
There is no deity except Allah.
Whoever's last words are 'La ilaha illallah' will enter Paradise.
Muslim, Jana'iz 1, 916; Abu Dawud, Jana'iz 16, 3117
When closing the eyes of the deceased
Allâhümmağfir li fülânin verfe' deracetehû fil mehdiyyîne vahlüfhü fî akıbihî fil ğâbirîne vağfir lenâ ve lehû yâ rabbel âlemîn.
O Allah, forgive (so-and-so), raise their rank among the guided, be a successor to those they leave behind. Forgive us and them, O Lord of the worlds.
Muslim, Jana'iz 7, 920
Condolence supplication
İnne lillâhi mâ ehaze ve lehû mâ a'tâ ve küllü şey'in indehû bi ecelin müsemmâ feltasbir veltahtesib.
To Allah belongs what He took and to Him belongs what He gave. Everything with Him has an appointed time. So be patient and seek reward from Allah.
