Eûzü billâhi mineşşeytânirracîm.
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.
Provides protection from the harm of bad dreams.
Muslim, Ru'ya 3, 2261
Allâhümme eslemtü nefsî ileyke, ve fevvadtü emrî ileyke, ve veccehtü vechî ileyke, ve elce'tü zahrî ileyke, rağbeten ve rahbeten ileyke, lâ melcee ve lâ mencee minke illâ ileyke, âmentü bi kitâbikelleẕî enzelte ve bi nebiyyikelleẕî erselte.
O Allah, I submit my soul unto You, and I entrust my affair unto You, and I turn my face towards You, and I totally rely on You, in hope and fear of You. There is no fleeing from You, and there is no place of protection and safety except with You. I believe in Your Book which You have revealed and in Your Prophet whom You have sent.
Whoever says this and dies in their sleep, dies upon the fitrah (natural disposition).
Bukhari, Da'awat 6, 6313; Muslim, Dhikr 56, 2710
Sübhânallâh (33 kez), Elhamdülillâh (33 kez), Allâhü Ekber (34 kez).
Glory be to Allah (33), Praise be to Allah (33), Allah is the Greatest (34).
When Fatimah (RA) asked for help, the Prophet (PBUH) taught her this tasbih instead of giving her a servant.
Bukhari, Fada'il al-Ashab 9, 3705; Muslim, Dhikr 80, 2727
Kul hüvallâhü ehad... Kul eûzü bi rabbil felak... Kul eûzü bi rabbin nâs.
Recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas, blow into cupped hands and wipe over the body.
The Prophet (PBUH) did this every night before sleeping.
Bukhari, Fada'il al-Quran 14, 5017
Lâ ilâhe illallâhü vahdehû lâ şerîke lehû, lehül mülkü ve lehül hamdü ve hüve alâ külli şey'in kadîr. Sübhânallâhi vel hamdü lillâhi ve lâ ilâhe illallâhü vallâhü ekber, ve lâ havle ve lâ kuvvete illâ billâh.
None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone without partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and praise, He is over all things omnipotent. How perfect Allah is, all praise is for Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, Allah is the Greatest. There is no might or power except with Allah.
Whoever says this and then makes dua will be answered, and if they pray it will be accepted.
Bukhari, Tahajjud 21, 1154
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His anger and His punishment, from the evil of His servants, and from the whisperings of the devils and their presence.
Abu Dawud, Tibb 19, 3893; Tirmidhi, Da'awat 94, 3528
Allâhü lâ ilâhe illâ hüvel hayyül kayyûm. Lâ te'huzühû sinetün ve lâ nevm. Lehû mâ fis semâvâti ve mâ fil ard. Men zellezî yeşfeu indehû illâ bi iznih. Ve lâ yuhîtûne bi şey'in min ilmihî illâ bi mâ şâe. Vesia kürsiyyühüs semâvâti vel ard. Ve lâ yeûdühû hıfzuhümâ ve hüvel aliyyül azîm.
Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Whoever recites this before sleeping will have a guardian from Allah protecting them until morning, and no devil will come near them.
Al-Baqarah 2:255; Bukhari, Wakalah 10, 2311
