Al-Matin
The Forceful
The One whose strength is unshakeable and whose power can never be diminished.
Zâriyât 51:58
Virtue
Al-Matin declares the solidity, steadfastness, and unshakable firmness of Allah's strength; if Al-Qawiyy expresses 'power,' Al-Matin expresses 'the solidity of that power.' In Surah adh-Dhariyat 51:58 He says: 'Indeed, Allah is the Provider, the Possessor of strength, the Firm.' The servant who reflects on this name recognizes Allah, the One who stands firm behind everything in life that sways, changes, and slips away. They know that worldly assurance—money, health, position—is temporary, but Al-Matin is never shaken; their only support is bound to Him.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said to Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him): 'Know that if the entire ummah were to gather to benefit you, they could not benefit you except with what Allah has decreed for you; and if they were to gather to harm you, they could not harm you except with what Allah has decreed.'
