الْمُنْتَقِمُ
Al-Muntaqim
The One who requites the wrongdoers with deserved punishment, upholding divine justice.
Secde 32:22
Al-Muntaqim declares that Allah takes vengeance on tyrants and the arrogant—showing that injustice will not be left short on the scale. In Surah as-Sajdah 32:22 He says: 'Indeed, We shall take vengeance upon the criminals.' Al-Muntaqim does not take vengeance on believers but on tyrants who persist in oppression and do not turn to repentance. The servant who reflects on this name, when wronged in this world, lets go of taking vengeance into their own hands—taking refuge in Allah's decree. At the same time, they fear themselves becoming a tyrant; they fear Allah's overwhelming retribution.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah gives respite to the oppressor; but when He seizes him, He does not let go.'
