الْمُتَكَبِّرُ
Al-Mutakabbir
The One to whom all greatness and majesty belong exclusively, manifesting supreme glory above all creation.
Haşr 59:23
Al-Mutakabbir affirms that true greatness and majesty belong to Allah alone—no creature can share these attributes with Him. Pride suits only the Creator; for the servant, pride is like seizing a garment that does not belong to them. In a sacred hadith Allah declares: 'Pride is My garment and grandeur is My cloak; whoever competes with Me regarding either of them, I will throw him into Hellfire.' The servant who invokes Al-Mutakabbir takes refuge from the hidden arrogance of the self, clothes themselves in humility, and seeks Allah's pleasure rather than human praise.
Abu Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah, Exalted is He, said: "Pride is My cloak and grandeur is My garment. Whoever competes with Me in either of them, I will cast him into Hell."'
