Al-Wasi'
The All Comprehending
The One whose mercy, knowledge, and power encompass all of creation without limit.
Bakara 2:115
Virtue
Al-Wasi' declares that Allah's knowledge, mercy, grace, and forgiveness are without limit; no servant falls outside His mercy. In Surah al-Baqarah 2:115 He says: 'To Allah belongs the east and the west; wherever you turn, there is the Face of Allah. Indeed, Allah is All-Embracing, All-Knowing.' The servant who reflects on this name does not despair of Allah's mercy—if one door closes, a thousand more remain open in Al-Wasi''s hand. Their heart also expands: they forgive others' faults and do not abandon generosity in narrow times, because true expansiveness belongs only to Allah.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to say in his supplication: 'O Allah! I ask You of Your mercy, for Your mercy encompasses everything.'
