The One whose mercy encompasses all creation without distinction, bestowing blessings upon believers and unbelievers alike in this world.

Virtue
Ar-Rahman expresses Allah's all-encompassing mercy in this world, extended to every creature without distinction—manifest in sustenance, health, intellect, and guidance. The servant who calls upon this name softens their own heart, becoming more compassionate toward others. Honored with its own chapter in the Qur'an, this blessed name represents the most expansive refuge a person can turn to in times of need.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The Merciful (Ar-Rahman) shows mercy to those who are merciful. Show mercy to those on earth, and the One above the heavens will show mercy to you.'
