الرَّشِيدُ
Ar-Rashid
The One who places everything in its proper place and directs His servants toward the right path.
Hûd 11:87
Ar-Rashid declares that Allah guides, points to the right path, and brings His servants to maturity. While Al-Hadi means 'the One who shows the way,' Ar-Rashid means 'the One who shows the way and accompanies until maturity.' In Surah Hud 11:78 Prophet Lut (peace be upon him) says to his people: 'Is there not among you a rashid (mature, rightly-acting) man?' The servant who reflects on this name seeks rushd within themselves—the matured unity of intellect, heart, and conduct. They ask Allah for guidance (irshad) in every stage of life.
The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to pray: 'O Allah, I ask You for rectitude (rushd), steadfastness, and gratitude for Your blessings.'
