Zâriyât 51:58

Virtue

Ar-Razzaq declares that Allah is the One who provides for every creature—openly and secretly—sustaining each living being from ant to elephant, from the fish of the sea to the fledgling of the nest. The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught: 'If you trusted in Allah as you should, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they leave hungry in the morning and return full at evening.' The servant who invokes Ar-Razzaq remembers that sustenance comes from Allah, not from people; treats work as a means rather than a source, places trust in Him through scarcity as much as plenty, and keeps the world's chain loose around the heart.

Related Hadith

'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'If you were to truly rely upon Allah, He would provide for you as He provides for the birds: they go out in the morning with empty stomachs and return in the evening with full ones.'
