Seeking forgiveness

Can be recited anytime, especially morning and evening.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Estağfirullâhellezî lâ ilâhe illâ hüvel hayyül kayyûmü ve etûbü ileyhi.

I seek forgiveness of Allah, besides whom there is no deity, the Ever-Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I repent to Him.

Whoever recites this will be forgiven, even if they fled from battle.

Seeking forgiveness 100 times daily

Recited 100 times daily.

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

Estağfirullâhe ve etûbü ileyhi.

I seek the forgiveness of Allah and repent to Him.

The Prophet (PBUH) used to seek forgiveness 100 times a day.

The supplication of Adam (AS)

Recited during repentance.

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ

Rabbenâ zalemnâ enfüsenâ ve in lem tağfir lenâ ve terhamnâ lenekûnenne minel hâsirîn.

Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.

The first supplication of Adam (AS) and Hawwa when repenting.

Al-A'raf 7:23

The supplication of Yunus (AS)

Recited during distress and repentance.

لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ

Lâ ilâhe illâ ente sübhâneke innî küntü minezzâlimîn.

There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.

No Muslim makes this supplication without it being answered.

Al-Anbiya 21:87

Comprehensive repentance supplication

Can be recited in prayer before salam, or anytime.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي ظُلْمًا كَثِيرًا وَلَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَغْفِرَةً مِنْ عِنْدِكَ وَارْحَمْنِي إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

Allâhümme innî zalemtü nefsî zulmen kesîran ve lâ yağfirüz zünûbe illâ ente fağfir lî mağfiraten min indike verhemnî inneke entel ğafûrur rahîm.

O Allah, I have greatly wronged myself and none forgives sins but You, so grant me forgiveness from You and have mercy on me. Surely, You are the Most Forgiving, the Most Merciful.

The supplication the Prophet (PBUH) taught Abu Bakr to recite in prayer.

After committing a sin

Recited with remorse after committing a sin.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي كُلَّهُ وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ

Allâhümmağfir lî zenbî küllehû ve tüb aleyye inneke entet tevvâbür rahîm.

O Allah, forgive all my sins and accept my repentance. Verily, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful.

Muslim, Salat 216, 483; Tabarani

There is no might nor power except with Allah

Recited frequently, especially in times of difficulty.

لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Lâ havle ve lâ kuvvete illâ billâh.

There is no might nor power except with Allah.

It is a treasure from the treasures of Paradise.
