At the end of every supplication.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Rabbenâ âtinâ fid-dünyâ haseneten ve fil-âhireti haseneten ve kınâ azâben-nâr.
Our Lord, give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.
Al-Baqarah 2/201
Asking acceptance of acts of worship.
رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
Rabbenâ tekabbel minnâ, inneke entes-semîul-alîm.
Our Lord, accept this from us. Indeed, You are the Hearing, the Knowing.
Al-Baqarah 2/127
Asking forgiveness for errors and sins.
رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا، رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا، رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ، وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا
Rabbenâ lâ tüâhıznâ in nesînâ ev ahta'nâ. Rabbenâ ve lâ tahmil aleynâ ısran kemâ hameltehû alellezîne min kablinâ. Rabbenâ ve lâ tühammilnâ mâ lâ tâkate lenâ bih. Va'fü annâ vağfir lenâ verhamnâ.
Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or err. Our Lord, do not lay on us such a burden as You laid on those before us. Our Lord, do not burden us with what we cannot bear. Pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy on us.
Al-Baqarah 2/286
Asking for steadfastness on the path.
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْوَهَّابُ
Rabbenâ lâ tüziğ kulûbenâ ba'de iz hedeytenâ ve heb lenâ min ledünke rahmeh, inneke entel-vehhâb.
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us from Yourself mercy. Indeed, You are the Bestower.
Al-i Imran 3/8
For steadfastness and victory.
رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Rabbenağfir lenâ zünûbenâ ve isrâfenâ fî emrinâ ve sebbit akdâmenâ vensurnâ alel-kavmil-kâfirîn.
Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess in our affairs, plant our feet firmly, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.
Al-i Imran 3/147
For repentance.
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ
Rabbenâ zalemnâ enfüsenâ ve in lem tağfir lenâ ve terhamnâ le-nekûnenne minel-hâsirîn.
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers.
Al-A'raf 7/23 — Adam's repentance
Seeking justice.
رَبِّ احْكُمْ بِالْحَقِّ، وَرَبُّنَا الرَّحْمَنُ الْمُسْتَعَانُ عَلَى مَا تَصِفُونَ
Rabbihküm bil-hakk, ve Rabbüner-Rahmânül-müste'ânü alâ mâ tesifûn.
My Lord, judge in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the One whose help is sought against what you describe.
Al-Anbiya 21/112
Before exams, speeches, or difficult decisions.
رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِنْ لِسَانِي يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي
Rabbişrah lî sadrî ve yessir lî emrî vahlül ukdeten min lisânî yefkahû kavlî.
My Lord, expand for me my breast, ease my affair, and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.
Ta-Ha 20/25-28 — Moses' supplication
When seeking knowledge.
رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
Rabbi zidnî ilmâ.
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
Ta-Ha 20/114
In times of distress, recite 7 times.
حَسْبِيَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
Hasbiyallâhü lâ ilâhe illâ hû, aleyhi tevekkeltü ve hüve Rabbül-arşil-azîm.
Allah is sufficient for me. There is no deity except Him. Upon Him I have relied, and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne.
Whoever recites this 7 times morning and evening, Allah will suffice him in this world and the next.
At-Tawbah 9/129
Praying for one's family.
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَاجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Rabbenâ heb lenâ min ezvâcinâ ve zürriyyâtinâ kurrete a'yünin vec'alnâ lil-müttekîne imâmâ.
Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us a leader for the righteous.
Al-Furqan 25/74
Asking for patience and aid.
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ
Rabbenâ efriğ aleynâ sabran ve sebbit akdâmenâ vensurnâ alel-kavmil-kâfirîn.
Our Lord, pour upon us patience, plant our feet firmly, and aid us against the disbelieving people.
Al-Baqarah 2/250
As a comprehensive supplication.
رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ
Rabbenâ vesı'te külle şey'in rahmeten ve ilmen, fağfir lillezîne tâbû vettebeû sebîleke ve kıhim azâbel-cahîm.
Our Lord, You encompass all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who repent and follow Your way, and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire.
Ghafir 40/7
Seeking refuge from oppression.
رَبِّ نَجِّنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ
Rabbi neccinî minel-kavmiz-zâlimîn.
My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.
Al-Qasas 28/21 — Moses' supplication
In illness and difficulty.
رَبِّ إِنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
Rabbi innî messeniyed-durru ve ente erhamür-râhimîn.
My Lord, indeed adversity has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.
Al-Anbiya 21/83 — Job's supplication
For deliverance from distress.
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ
Lâ ilâhe illâ ente sübhâneke innî küntü minez-zâlimîn.
There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.
Whoever recites this dua, Allah relieves his distress.
Al-Anbiya 21/87 — Jonah's supplication
For wisdom and righteousness.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي حُكْمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
Rabbi heb lî hukmen ve elhıknî bis-sâlihîn.
My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.
Ash-Shu'ara 26/83 — Abraham's supplication
Vowing to remain upright.
رَبِّ بِمَا أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ فَلَنْ أَكُونَ ظَهِيرًا لِلْمُجْرِمِينَ
Rabbi bimâ en'amte aleyye fe-len ekûne zahîran lil-mücrimîn.
My Lord, because You have favored me, I will never be a supporter of the criminals.
Al-Qasas 28/17 — Moses' supplication
Asking for righteous offspring.
رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ
Rabbi heb lî mines-sâlihîn.
My Lord, grant me from the righteous.
As-Saffat 37/100 — Abraham's supplication
As an expression of trust in Allah.
رَبَّنَا عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ
Rabbenâ aleyke tevekkelnâ ve ileyke enebnâ ve ileykel-masîr.
Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have turned, and to You is the destination.
Al-Mumtahanah 60/4 — Abraham's supplication
Asking for a good ending.
رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ
Rabbenâ fağfir lenâ zünûbenâ ve keffir annâ seyyiâtinâ ve teveffenâ meal-ebrâr.
Our Lord, forgive us our sins, remove from us our misdeeds, and cause us to die with the righteous.
Al-i Imran 3/193
For family and lineage.
رَبَّنَا وَاجْعَلْنَا مُسْلِمَيْنِ لَكَ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِنَا أُمَّةً مُسْلِمَةً لَكَ
Rabbenâ vec'alnâ müslimeyni leke ve min zürriyyetinâ ümmeten müslimeten leke.
Our Lord, make us both submissive to You, and from our descendants a nation submitting to You.
Al-Baqarah 2/128 — Abraham's supplication
Asking to remain steadfast in prayer.
رَبِّ اجْعَلْنِي مُقِيمَ الصَّلَاةِ وَمِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِي رَبَّنَا وَتَقَبَّلْ دُعَاءِ
Rabbic'alnî mukîmes-salâti ve min zürriyyetî, Rabbenâ ve tekabbel duâ.
My Lord, make me an establisher of prayer, and from my descendants. Our Lord, accept my supplication.
Ibrahim 14/40
In remembrance of the Hereafter.
رَبَّنَا إِنَّكَ جَامِعُ النَّاسِ لِيَوْمٍ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ
Rabbenâ inneke câmiun-nâsi li-yevmin lâ raybe fîh, innallâhe lâ yuhliful-mîâd.
Our Lord, You will gather mankind on a Day about which there is no doubt. Indeed, Allah does not break His promise.

Seeking a way out of difficulty.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا
Rabbenâ âtinâ min ledünke rahmeten ve heyyi' lenâ min emrinâ raşedâ.
Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy, and prepare for us from our affair right guidance.
