Qunut Dua 1

Qunut dua 1 (Allahumma inna nasta'inuka)

Transliteration

English meaning

O Allah, we ask You for help, for forgiveness and for guidance. We believe in You, turn to You in repentance and rely on You. We praise You with every good. We thank You and do not deny You, and we cast off and abandon whoever disobeys You.

When is it recited?

Recited in the third rak'ah of the Witr prayer in the Hanafi school. Taking the qunut takbir and making a supplication in that rak'ah is wajib, and reciting these two qunut duas is sunnah. Someone who has not memorised them recites "Rabbana atina" or says "Allahummaghfir li" three times until they do.
