أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ
Transliteration
A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min kulli shaytanin wa hammatin wa min kulli 'aynin lammah
English meaning
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, every harmful creature, and every envious eye.
The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The evil eye is real" (Bukhari, Tibb 36, 5740; Muslim, Salam 41, 2187). Surat al-Falaq and Surat an-Nas are recited against it, and the Prophet recited the dua below to protect his grandsons Hasan and Husayn. Source: fatwa of the Diyanet High Council of Religious Affairs.
When is it recited?
Recited upon children and family. The Prophet (PBUH) used to recite it upon Hasan and Husayn.
