Times use the method Diyanet applies for Türkiye, at the coordinates of each provincial centre. Districts can differ by a few minutes; open a province to reach its districts.

What sets the time of the Maghrib adhan?

Maghrib begins when the sun sets, and the adhan is called at that time. Sunset moves with place and season, so the time changes every day and in every province. Provinces in the east reach Maghrib before those in the west.

When does the Maghrib prayer time end?

It lasts until the twilight on the horizon has gone. For Abu Hanifa alone, that twilight is the whiteness that follows the red. Diyanet's Namaz İlmihali calls this window narrow and recommends praying Maghrib at the start of its time.

Is iftar at the same time as the Maghrib adhan?

Yes. The fast is broken when Maghrib comes in, so in Ramadan the iftar time is that day's Maghrib time.

How many rakats is Maghrib?

Maghrib has 5 rakats: 3 fard, followed by 2 sunnah.

This page gives no fatwa. The times are calculated, and a local mosque may differ by a few minutes.
